Steven “Steve” Baker

Steve Baker is a trial and appellate attorney at Varghese Summersett, where he handles criminal cases throughout North Texas. He focuses most of his time on cases in Dallas, Collin, and Tarrant counties.

Prior to joining the firm, Steve served as a federal judicial clerk, a prosecutor at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, and spent time in private practice. Steve has made a name for himself by securing extraordinary outcomes in some of the most difficult jurisdictions.

Fun Fact: Before attending Texas Tech University School of Law, Steve worked as a newspaper reporter for many years, including at the Fort Worth Star-Telegramand TCU’s Daily Skiff.

Steve’s superior writing skills have given him a significant advantage in complex cases, particularly those involving the application of nuanced law to a particular set of facts, issues that commonly come up in federal cases, as well as the suppression of stops and arrests.

Steve has handled thousands of criminal cases during his career, ranging from DWI to murder to white collar crimes. His experience, coupled with a deep knowledge of the law, allows him to craft the best defense strategy for our clients and achieve remarkable results.
